- Comes with most of the same bells and whistles as most competitors – multiple fan speeds, a timer, defrost mode, etc.
- Portable – light and small for a compressor based dehumidifier
- Poor performance in most of our testing
- Not a good value – priced very high relative to its performance
- Dehumidifier
- 5 ft. gravity drain hose

Performance Test Results
Energy Efficiency
The AP25-2007EE draws 285 watts of power which is in the same approximate range as most other low capacity (15 to 25 pint) dehumidifiers we tested.
This Humsure dehumidifier did, however, take almost three times longer than similarly sized competitors to dehumidify our test space.
The bottom line – average power draw combined with a very low tested moisture removal rate makes this one of the more inefficient low capacity (small) dehumidifiers we’ve tested.
Noise Output

The AP25-2007EE was measured at 67.4 dB of noise output on high fan speed right above and to the front of its top control panel. It was measured at 61.6 dB on low.
This gives it the same approximate noise output as most high capacity (50 pint) dehumidifiers we’ve tested.
The Humsure is much louder than most low capacity (15 to 30 pint) dehumidifiers we’ve tested. The quietest low capacity unit, the Waykar PD160B, was measured at only 59.1 dB on high fan speed and 53.9 dB on low.
Moisture Removal
In a 50 sq. ft. test room the AP25-2007EE took 36 minutes and 11 seconds to lower humidity in the room from 90% RH (relative humidity) down to 40% RH. This is a terrible result for this test.
For comparison, most low capacity competitors we tested recently took only about 13 to 15 minutes in the same test.
Most high capacity competitors took 9 to 11 minutes.
This makes the AP25-2007EE more than two times slower to dehumidify than low capacity competitors, and more than three times slower to dehumidify than high capacity competitors.
Hygrometer Accuracy
The AP25-2007EE’s built-in hygrometer consistently gave readings that were 5% more than the actual room humidity.
What does this mean in practice?
If you set it to a target humidity level of 50%, it will cycle off at an actual room humidity of 55%.
Included Features, Functionality, Build Quality, Warranties, and Value
Durability (Build Quality)
General Impressions
This dehumidifier has below average build quality and is made of below average quality parts and materials. We make this assessment based on our own handling and using this dehumidifier during testing and comparing its build quality (and material quality) to that of all of the other dehumidifiers we’ve tested.
Consumer Feedback
This model has mostly positive consumer reviews, but there is still a significant number of reviews that complain about its reliability.
Overall Category Score
Overall, this model scores only a 3/5 for durability.
Adjustability
This model has 3 fan speeds (many competitors only have 2) but it doesn’t feature any automatic modes and it has a more limited timer than many competitors.
Overall Category Score
Overall, it scores a 3.5/5 for adjustability.
Versatility
Set Humidity Range
On the AP25-2007EE, you can set a target humidity between 40 and 80%. Many competitors can be set as low as 35, even 30%.
Operating Temperature Range
The operating temperature range for this model is 41° to 89.9° F which is fairly standard for a compressor based dehumidifier.
Gravity Drainage

This model comes with a 5 ft. gravity drain hose. You have to remove the dehumidifier’s water tank (which is uniquely situated on the back of the dehumidifier) and connect this hose to an outlet behind the water tank to employ gravity drainage.

Most competitors are easier to drain using gravity – you simply connect a hose to the back of the dehumidifier. They don’t require you to remove the water tank first.
Built-in Pump
This model does not feature a built-in pump.
Overall Category Score
Overall, the AP25-2007EE scores a 3.5/5 for versatility.
Extra Features
Temperature Reading
This dehumidifier does not display room temperature.
Defrost
The AP25-2007EE will automatically de-ice its evaporator coil. It will also alert you (on its control panel) when its defrost mode is activated.
Check Filter
This model does not have a check filter light (to alert you when you should clean its air filter).
Overall Category Score
Overall, this model scores a 4/5 for extra features.
Ease of Use
LED Display Clarity
This dehumidifier does not have a very high quality display.
Setup Difficulty
On the AP25-2007EE, you have to press the humidity button repeatedly to cycle through target humidity levels and continuous mode – there are no + or – buttons.
Filter Removal Difficulty
We didn’t have any trouble removing or replacing this dehumidifier’s air filter.
Manual Clarity
No complaints here.
Water Tank Size

The AP25-2007EE’s water tank has a capacity of 10.6 pints. This is right around average for a low capacity dehumidifier. High capacity units have larger water tanks with an average water tank capacity closer to 16 pints.
Overall Category Score
Overall, the AP25-2007EE scores only a 3/5 for ease of use.
Portability

The AP25-2007EE weighs 31.9 lb. Again, this is right around average for a low capacity compressor based dehumidifier.
It has side pocket handles if you need to pick it up and it has casters if you need to push it around.
It doesn’t have a strap or plastic hooks on the back around which you can wrap its power cord.
Overall Category Score
Overall, this model earns a 4/5 for portability.
Warranty (Manufacturer’s)
The AP25-2007EE comes with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. This is the industry standard for compressor based dehumidifiers.
Value
The AP25-2007EE usually retails for around $200 which is exceptionally expensive relative to its performance.
Again, this model removes moisture at (approx.) half the rate of most other low capacity dehumidifiers. It also isn’t energy efficient, it has high noise output for its size, and it has an inaccurate hygrometer (according to our testing).
This model is a terrible value at the $200 price point.
Relative to its performance and features it should be priced closer to $100.
